Household Hazardous Waste - HHW

Dispose of Household Hazardous Waste - Safely, Conveniently – and for Free!

Household Hazardous Waste or HHW includes items such as poisons, paints, oil, solvents, automotive fluids, cleaners, pesticides, herbicides and many common household products must not be dumped into the regular garbage.

It is also ILLEGAL to dispose in the trash or landfill items such as Household Batteries, Fluorescent Tubes, Mercury Thermometers and many Electronic Devices.

Check your house, garage, and yard for common household products (such as cleaners, paints, car products, and pesticides) that may be hazardous to you, your children, your pets or our environment.

Read the Labels – look for words such as Danger, Warning, Caution, Poisonous, Deadly and Flammable on the labels – these products are harmful.  Do not put such materials in garbage cans or storm drains – And in most cases it is Illegal to do so.

Pleasant Hill is committed to helping prevent waste and keeping harmful and hazardous waste out of our landfills and our environment.

Please help the City and our community and find the answers to how and where to properly dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste.
